By JEEnify Academic Team7 min readUpdated 28 October 2026

It’s official. NTA released the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin on 24 October 2026, and Session 1 registration is open now at jeemain.nta.nic.in. This page puts every date, fee and form rule from the 93-page bulletin in one place, so you can register correctly the first time and get back to preparing.

Deadline: Session 1 applications close on 22 November 2026 at 11:50 pm. A late window runs from 23 to 26 November with an extra ₹500 fee. The exam itself is on 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027.

The fee is per session, paid online by net banking, debit or credit card, or UPI; bank charges and GST are extra. Centres outside India cost five times more (₹5,000 for a General male, one paper). The late fee is a flat ₹500 for every category, on top of the normal fee. Fees are not refunded, so check the form before you pay.

How to apply for JEE Main 2027, step by step

  1. Register. Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in and register. This year registration runs through MeriPehchaan, the government’s single sign-on, where you can verify yourself with Aadhaar, PAN, a driving licence or APAAR. Create a password (8–13 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a digit and a special character) and note your application number: it is used for both sessions.
  2. Fill the form. Log in with your application number, then enter personal and school details, pick your paper, choose your exam cities and language, and upload documents.
  3. Pay the fee online. The form isn’t complete until the payment goes through.
  4. Download the confirmation page and keep it. If it doesn’t appear after paying, check with your bank first; if the money left your account, contact the NTA helpline rather than paying again.

Documents and photo rules

UploadFormatSize
Live photograph (taken during the form)Webcam or phone via QR coden/a
Passport-size photographJPG/JPEG, colour, white background10 – 200 KB
SignatureJPG/JPEG10 – 100 KB
Class 10 certificate or marksheetPDF50 – 300 KB
Disability / UDID certificate (if applicable)PDF50 – 300 KB

Both photos must show 80% face, ears visible, no mask, against a white background with good lighting. NTA advises updating your Aadhaar with a recent photo, and your name and date of birth should match your Aadhaar and Class 10 records.

Who can apply for JEE Main 2027?

  • No age limit to sit the exam (individual institutes may have their own).
  • You must have passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026, or be appearing in 2027. Those who passed in 2024 or earlier are not eligible.
  • The passing year is the year you first passed Class 12; improvement exams don’t reset it.
  • Your state code of eligibility is the state where you passed Class 12, not where you live.

Admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs through JoSAA has its own rule (75% in Class 12, 65% for SC/ST, or top 20 percentile of your board). Our complete JEE Main 2027 guide explains how it fits together.

Languages: 13 options

The paper is offered in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. English, Hindi and Urdu are available at every centre in India; the others depend on the state of your exam centre. The paper shows English alongside your chosen language, and you can’t change the language after the correction window.

Mistakes that cost candidates their form

  • Filling two forms. NTA treats more than one application as unfair means, even if it’s discovered later. One form, one application number.
  • A photo with a mask, cap or dark background. It can be rejected at verification.
  • A name or date of birth that doesn’t match Aadhaar and Class 10. Fix the mismatch before you apply.
  • Waiting for the late window. It costs ₹500 more and leaves no room if a payment fails.
  • Picking cities carelessly. Choose cities you can actually reach; the city and language can’t be changed after the correction window.

After you register: the next 12 weeks

Registration takes an evening. The 12 weeks between now and 20 January decide your percentile. The syllabus is settled (unchanged from 2026), so this is about finishing well, not starting anything new:

  1. Weeks 1–4: close any pending Class 12 units, heaviest first, using the important chapters guide.
  2. Weeks 5–8: one full-length mock a week in the real CBT interface, each followed by a proper mock analysis.
  3. Weeks 9–12: two mocks a week, including live mocks against other students, plus previous year papers and the formula sheets for quick revision.

JEEnify brings all of it together: chapter-wise practice, full-length mocks, weekly live mocks with percentile ranking, PYQs and formula sheets, organised by the official syllabus.
